What Might Software for Excellence Look Like?
Overview
In the IT world we see hardware computers, printers, scanners and so on. Similarly, the ‘hardware’ of ‘excellence’ in service delivery or manufacturing are all the things we can see, the tools we use – visual displays, 5S markings, performance monitors, tiered meetings, AI(?) and so on. In the IT world, what makes it all happen is the software. Safe to say there’s necessary ‘software’ in excellent service delivery or manufacturing. Such software is the people element which can’t be periodic or in pockets; that won’t deliver sustained desired results. So, what might such ‘excellent people software’ need to look like?
Oscar Roche, Director of TWI Institute Australia and New Zealand, will facilitate a group based interactive session where we will explore your answers to the question above (and more that may arise).
What You'll Learn
- Different organisations perspectives of excellence (none of which will be wrong).
- A line of thinking that may foundationally adjust such perspective.
- A fundamental element of the ‘software’ that can be quite challenging to identify but can have a resounding impact if succinctly captured.
- What common things may need to be present to be ‘excellent’ and sustain what’s achieved.
Who Should Attend
Those who are a resource to frontline leaders they themselves being inevitably accountable for delivering managements requirements yet faced with the reality of ‘everyday work’. Such resources include middle and upper operations management plus CI people and HR people. Of course frontline leaders themselves will add terrific perspective too, and gain value from attending.
Please bring a willingness to participate.
About the Presenter

Oscar believes strongly that excellence in business lies in the development of people capability. It is this belief, combined with extensive operations management experience, that permits him to add value to any organisation he works with.
Oscar is a regular speaker at summits and conferences in the US and Europe and a frequent presenter of webinars through Lean Frontiers (US).
