EVENT OVERVIEW
AME Site visits are a great opportunity to ‘learn by seeing’ and ensure you experience ‘hands on’ tools and skills to take back to your workplace. This plant tour will visit the Elizabeth GM Holden Vehicle Operations and Transition Centre.
Today Holden is one of only seven fully-integrated global General Motors operations that designs, builds & sells vehicles for Australia and the world with a world class vehicle manufacturing operations in Elizabeth, Adelaide, South Australia. Holden Vehicle Operations (HVO) produce 44 models from six vehicle body styles and two core vehicle ‘architectures’ for domestic and export customers.
Despite recent challenges, Australia’s automotive industry leads in design, engineering and manufacturing excellence, coupled with first-class R&D capabilities and a significant capacity to diversify and transfer into future industries. Unfortunately Holden will cease manufacturing operations in Adelaide in 2017. This will be your last chance to visit one of Adelaide’s exemplar automotive plants before they close their doors for good.
This Workplace Insights Tour will provide practical learning opportunities to improve business performance through facilitated Insights to the workplace of this exemplar automotive plant. You’ll experience lean implementation and develop the understanding necessary to implement these within your organisation.
